Yesterday this painting went to its new home.
It's always a pleasure to see what environment my work ends up in, and especially when it seems to be as in place as it is here. Usually it is a bit of a struggle to say goodbye to a painting, especially if it is a recent work, like this one. At the same time, it is great that people buy my work and are delighted with it.
The title of the painting is 'Hello hare'; during a bike ride I heard myself greeting the animals I met along the way. 'Hello cat', 'Hello chicken', 'Hello blackbird'.
I decided to title the paintings of origami animals I am working on with this greeting. Now that the painting has left the studio I say 'Goodbye hare'. Be well.
